I was just in my blog, and was looking at the plugins section...I have 13 plugins that aren't activated, but that I didn't install, upload, whatever...so how did they get there? The Askimet, and the Hello Dolly I know come with the initial installation...but there is no way to delete any of them..and I don't like the idea of them just showing up like that.
There needs to be a delete function in there.
Thanks!

Great question James, ever realised that when you get to a point when you know certain things you tend to just think everyone knows it?

I have had my iblog blog here for years, and I just didn't know those plugins existed, in fact I didn't know much about plugins and widgets and all that kind of stuff.

Fast forward a few years on, I noticed they where there and now I was knowledgeable a little, perhaps like you are now, and realised that you can't add anything to these blogs and you can't remove them either.

I simply concluded that just as you are not able to do much with cloud hosted blogs, these free ones i.e., it's exactly the same principle here, you have got not much control over your iblog. Don't you see even the theme, you can't install new ones.

So, I just didn't think any much of it, nor did I think of posing the question, just assumed evryone knows, perhaps which is why you didn't get an answer to it before me, something I find a little common here.

However, overall, I think having that iblog is a great addition to the many features we have here and think people should really take advantage of them, interestingly, they have the great basic plugins.

I know I am not making use of mine as much as I should be.

I hope that's the answer to your question and if not, hope someone will chime in.

Thanks, actually I was doing some spring cleaning in there when I found the plugins. I have also had my blog active for 3 years now..but I know not all those plugins were there before. Maybe when VN relaunched? I do have my own hosted WP blogs, but am still trying to come up with a better use for the iblog, restrictions and all...heh

plug ins are different applications that you can add to a wordpress blog to help make it more interesting / easier to manage Mubashar. I don't use them much myself so can't explain more than that but if you do a google search you should find plenty of useful information to help you.

Both of the above posts by Jessica Hu are select paste posts. I think they must be discouraged.

Second Important thing: Would you please James tell me something about plugins. How can we benefit from them while earning on net.

Thanx James but Debbie's answer also indicated
"I don't use them much myself so can't explain more than that but if you do a google search you should find plenty of useful information to help you"
So I thought it better to ask James.

Ah...Ok then...misunderstood your intent, sorry for that. The plugins are located in the menu bar on the left hand side of your dashboard for the blog. I haven't looked at mine for awhile now due to lack of time. They are used to add different functions to the blog itself, but with iBlog we are really limited to the ones we can use, plus there is no function where we can download our own. Ones I like give your blog the ability to be see on cell phones, and other mobile devices in their particular display format, plus SEO plugins, which we do have one in our iblog but i don't use it. The Akismet plugin is a great tool, but if you use your blog for any type of profit gaining use, then you are supposed to purchase a business license from Akismet to use it.
To put it simply, plugins are tools to use to add many different, useful funtions to you blog but it would be better if we could download the ones we want to use.
