Hi Guys I don't mean to be negative but this last couple of weeks everything in Viral Networks has been slow, but today it is almost impossible to do anything eg over a minute to rate a suggest and to load a profile.

Yeah I have the same issue as you Stephane and the longer the post the more time it takes but also hitting the bookmark button in the suggest tab takes a little longer than it did too but other than that its fine.

Yep..gets frustrating tryin to do my job on here...Debs would tell ya the same. Having to wait for pages to load, comments to load, deleting stuff, and if i try to move something to Archives...forget it..heh. This has really been an ongoing problem...better at times then back to slow speed. I thought it might be due to the number of folks on here at one time..but ruled that out.

I've noticed some sluggishness when hitting the 'send' button to post and such.

Absolutely frustrating very very slow takes up a lot of my time to do anything plus I cannot load any videos at all. I thought the problem was due to the new changes relating to the upgrade of VN. I am waiting for the massive relaunch.

I though that I am only facing this problem and I am really frastrated because non or my videos are getting loaded today. The message comes up as EXCEED FILE sapce of something like that. That too after 100% of video been uploaded and at the time of saving. So first long wait for video to get uploaded and then such mesage pop up when saving. Is this happen to all or just me??

Hi thanks for all the comments, reading them it seems that there is a wide variation in what people are experiencing. Freom past experience in my previous roles I would say this is an indication of either router and or dns issues at the data center. If I am right then we will have too get used to it as there is no easy fix for VN.

I'm really hoping these problems get cured with the new site. You can balme some of it on the speed, or lack of it on different computers..but this is the only site I have this problem on...well..a couple of Ning sites that have a lot of java and videos on their homepage..takes forever to load up..reason I don't visit them any more.
As for uploading videos..I know there have been issues in the past, but you have to notice if you've reached your limit for your particular membership level.
I don't know how many videos in total have been uploaded since VN opened...that could be an issue Colin may need to address...don't know since I'm not privy to that info.

I just posted a new thread. It was so slow that I actually had to close the window. To my surprise, it posted. So I guess to problem was not posting to the forum in my case, but the step after the thread gets posted. Not sure if this helps the admin to find the problem or not.

It is almost as if the various parts of the site on held on different servers, ie the forum posts are on one server and the credits are held on another, and there is a communication issue between the servers.

It is getting worse.... I tried viewing videos today.... forget it. That spinning wheel went on forever until I gave up.

I have had the same problem. Every time I post on my profile or a comment it takes forever to load but it always goes through in the end successfully. This has only been happening the last week. I just do something else on other sites while I am waiting.

There indeed seems to be a problem with our search engine, each new post takes between 10 and 30 seconds to process. We are working on optimizations right now.

Things definitely seem to be loading faster for me today. I am not sure if it is directly linked to what you guys have done behind the scenes, but thanks for your time and efforts anyway! :-)

I am not talking about 10-30 seconds here.... Takes minutes, up to 10 minutes sometimes. And then when I wanna do something else, I get the login message because of inactivity....lol

Stephane, that sounds like something is wrong with your connection or something. Its never took me that long. Seems to be running better than it was. Could use a little more work but nothing major.

Stephane is right..there are times it's takes minutes...and a bunch of'em sometimes. I haven't tried to upload any videos in months...but just trying to view, edit, or delete in different areas is a chore...maybe I ought to ask for overtime..heh.

I'm not finding it so slow at the moment today either. and my connection is a problem at times here in CY so am very grateful for whatever you did to help this issue :)

You have not been on for a little while but true. I have seen a dramatic difference in posting and bookmarking. They both are nearly instant!!!

I haven't been on as much lately....Debs has had to pick up the slack...but I still have a lot of speed issues. Everytime I just try and log in takes forever...minutes..but it seems like hours sometimes.
I don't know how they have the server(s) set up....but ya really need to do something. As I said before this is the only site I have these issues with. I'm on my brothers computer..which is much faster than my old laptop...but it doesn't help any.

James thats strange, I have no problem logging in and am having no other problems right now that is but have in the past. It takes like 30 sec. for me to login!

I am experiencing the same issues as James I have to admit which limits some days the amount of time I can spend on-site. This morning it took about a minute and a half or more just to log in and each time that I save a comment etc it takes almost the same...
Maybe it's just us mods that are experiencing that now though - it is pretty frustrating lol :)

Just to let you know, our technicians are currently working on resolving these issues. Let's hope it won't take too long. :) It's taking me aaages to send a message (like 2-3mins, which is aaages for me).
