Hope the caps got your attention but it is actually breaking a rule. No excessive caps :)

Firstly the site rules:

1) No Spamming, no posting your links all over the place. The Sig link you can setup under 'edit profile' is enough

2) No short silly comments or forum posts to boost your reputation, it will backfire, please make good qualify, positive contributions only!

3) Play nice! This is a place to grow as a person and grow your business knowledge, to meet and network with like minded people and to have fun.

Forum Rules:

1) Please ensure you are posting in the correct section, read the board descriptions to make sure you have the best fit.

2) Don't post affiliate links. This will lead to loss of credits, reputation levels and potential account suspension.

3) Keep it clean. Thanks Guys and Gals...

4) Have some fun and make some money!

I only hope you stick to your resolve and have enough help to hold the spammers in line. I have seen many communities fail at this over the years, but it's still a goal worth setting in my opinion.

Hi Warren, yeah we will do all we can to keep it at bay. Also as we see ways that our site is being exploited so we will program in things to prevent/reuce that. Thanks for the support

Can you please clarify what you mean by affiliate links as many are affiliates of network marketing and work at home businesses.

Hi lea, sure I can. Basically, you have your sig file showing, and that is what is allowed. In the actual text you write in terms of on the forum we dont want affiliate links as it leads to spam. In your videos you can use aff links, same in your blog posts but not on other peoples guestbooks (Your signature shows after each post anyways which is better)

Is it possible to add banners on our profile page - after all a profile page is our window and we are in a business network after all. Would love to know also what other members think about this - thanks everyone.

Yep, feedback from anyone else? My view is it makes it look spammy and messy. I personally never visit or use sites like myspace because some pages are 'un-navigational' what are other people's views though?

personally I don't mind if there's a space on profiles for a couple of banners. Maybe max 3 or 4? say 2 480x60 and two smaller ones?

There is room on the profiles on the RIGHT SIDE, both under the picture and to the right of the comments for some banners. This is what I would recommend... 2 125x125 banners available under the profile picture section, only one if you are a free member, and on the right to the comments possibly one 120x600 banner. That way we still keep it looking clean, but make great use of the extra space. I think any 468x60 would look bad, UNLESS its on the bottom of the profile below the comment box. This is also spots you could possibly put site advertising, and then when people update it can replace with their own, just an idea :)

I think it would be a good idea to have banners on our profile page. I think It'll draw more internet marketers to the viralnetworks just by having an added feature such as banners on profiles. Limit maybe 1 or 2 banners at the most. Just my thoughts.

Just a clarification to be sure for affiliate programs(I don't want to look like a "spammer/abuser"):

Forum Rules:

1) Please ensure you are posting in the correct section, read the board descriptions to make sure you have the best fit.

2) Don't post affiliate links. This will lead to loss of credits, reputation levels and potential account suspension.

In the SUGGEST section(post a link) and in the section everything else on the forum, Is it "acceptable" to post sometime affiliates programs links ?

About the banner question: yes I agree too (nice suggestion)

Hi Tony,

suggests I guess is fine, but will hopefully not make the top results and hopefully only valuable content and articles etc. will be suggested by most people to dominate the top listings.

Also, there is section where you can add your aff links on the forum, the last category sections can have affiliate links.

I would like to see a couple of banners on pages to see what people are into, if they can keep it in moderation.

To see a forum full of original content and articles would certainly be a nice change but I fear a very lofty endeavour that for most has proven unreachable.

I agree. Some other sites are just page after page of banners. I think it says alot about the individual. I can pretty much tell the integrity level of someone by the programs they promote and how they promote them. If you have a bunch of banners promoting paid to click, gifting programs and chain letters I'll pass right on by. A banner page maybe? With a link from the profile.

That is an option, we could make a 'My Sites' tab where you can add in a list of your sites and banners? Maybe 1 or 2 banners on the profile page might look nice as well.

I think a "My Sites" page is an excellent idea. Give people the choice to view your offers or not. As long as we're brain storming, how about the ability to add a subscription option as well.

Hello This response is for Warren.

About keeping the spammers on key well I am also a Admin over at my Community. I am very strict I do not tolerate any bad behavior. There is no warnings, even if your profile is inappropriate I delete you.
It is also a great idea of kinda a Community watch. My members let me know what is going on good or bad. They are my ears and eyes. So it is very friendly user. so if we keep are eyes open for misbehavior or inappropriate behavior things will be great here with no problems. But really since I am here I am the Angel of all the Communitys so I will be keeping you all covered!!! Lol Lol

Hi Collin,
About The my space profiles or any other community that has banners all over it. When I come upon pages like that it is so hard to even want to look so I usually click out very fast. People splatter all their banners around because They are desperate to make a buck if any. There just hoping that someone will click on anything. People need to learn the real way to Advertise their presence and Market their Identity. People have the wrong misconceptions of networking. We must teach others to break the pattern and cycle of what they see from others.
Just my 2 cents.

At first I thought, "Yikes, I just paid for a gold membership, only to be faced with these RULES!" But then I guess these rules would help the integrity of the site. Otherwise, everybody would just post their links. Everybody would be posting and no one would be reading at all. And what's the point in that :-)

Right exactly we want members to build reps and trust, so that they can put together million dollar JV s and partnerships...

Thanks for supporting and going gold, there are some very good benefits to being gold :) Please let me know if you need some help

Hi,
Sorry for jumping to the middle but I think I am missing something. are we allowed to talk about our own products and business in forums or what?
What I understand about going to a forum, there should be a "topic" And if nobody would like to contribute, that is fair enough, but if someone are interested with the idea and would like to give some comment or suggestion, this would be great! So, I would like to be allowed to open a forum for my own products and ask the opinions of other members as well. In this very moment, being able to put some picts or drawings would be more meaningful for attenders. If I only write "I plan to open a shop, come to visit my site and tell your opinions" I do not think many would come by running. But if I could put a banner somewhere (not in the box!) to announce or insert some pict in the discussion area, this would mean alot and attract the people better.
Anyway, was just a question :/
