The follwing backlinking strategy is almost the same I use. Thanks to Joe Finn, who has summarized it so well! I thought I might share it with you.

I get asked this so many times: “OK so I build backlinks, now how do I get Google to notice them?” or “Well I built all these backlinks, now how do I get them indexed?” — two versions of the same question.

So I decided to write this up — nothing to buy, just pure information — to help you overcome this hurdle. Because backlinks that aren’t noticed by Google and Bing are not really helpful, and it’s just wasted effort.

Here’s my very simple method for getting backlinks noticed:

Step 1: Make a list of the URLs of the pages on which you created a backlink to your site. For example, include in this list the URLs of any forum profiles you created, any blogs, etc.

Step 2: Build an RSS feed out of this list, 20 URLs at a time, at http://rss.icerocket.com/. That’s a free tool for building and hosting your RSS feeds. Once you’re done creating the feed, Ice Rocket will give you a URL where your feed can be found — note it because we’ll need it in step 3.

Step 3: Submit the Ice Rocket hosted RSS feed to all the directories listed here: http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htm. There’s a few sites in that list that don’t work anymore, just ignore them.

Step 4: Bookmark your Ice Rocket hosted RSS feed on http://digg.com, http://delicious.com, http://plurk.com, http://stumbleupon.com, http://reddit.com, etc.

Step 5: Create a new http://blogger.com blog and simply make a post with the list of URLs you collected in step 1 above.

Step 6: Ping the Ice Rocket hosted RSS feed and the new Blogger blog with http://pingomatic.com/ and http://pingoat.com/ — I use one or the other, sometimes both.

Step 7: (Optional) If you have Ksoft’s RSS Submit software — http://www.dummysoftware.com/rsssubmit.html not an affiliate link — you can also use that to submit to many hundreds of RSS directories.

That’s it. Sometimes Google ignores my links even after all of this — chalk it up to a “bad hair day” on the part of Big-G. But 97-99% of my backlinks do get indexed within 24 hours of my following the above 7 step procedure.

As you can see, SEO must not be complicated.
